Just send us an E-mail to: info@psycareaustria.org

  • Active members are part of our community - they have attended an induction meeting, paid their membership fee and are in regular contact with our team in one form or the other.

Only active members will receive updates in real time and get access to our offerings for free.

  • You need to …

… become a member of the Verein
… attend at least one training session
    … pay your membership fee
… sign up for the festival you want to volunteer at
    … communicate/confirm with your on-site coordinator

  • Yes. Please do. It is very important for us to know how many of you will be there and to keep track of everyone's development.

We know these admin tasks can be tedious, boring or even annoying, but they make our lives MUCH easier on the orga side - you can help our work by using English instead of German, send emails instead of texts, by completing all minor admin tasks we send you as soon as you can AND by being patient and kind :)

  • No. If you are a member of Psycare Austria you do not have to pay for the trainings.

  • Yes. We speak mostly English and are also involved in international festivals!

  • Make sure you paid your membership fee and start to hub into our community at your own pace. We share all our confirmed events at the beginning of the season with our members and they can start signing up as early as May 1.

At the training, you will have the opportunity to inform yourself about all our plans for the season and, maximum 24 hours after your training, you will receive a link to sign up for festivals.

We usually follow a first come-first serve policy, but some events require specific skills and/or experience and then we make decisions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Lead/Coord will evaluate applicants on a rolling basis and inform everyone as soon as they are able to.
    .
Please consider that we are organizing complex services around very sensitive topics AND we are still working on a volunteer basis. This means we might not be able to work as swiftly as we would like to or are used to in our professional lives.

We understand that you like to plan ahead, especially during summer months - us too. However, there are many moving parts in making an intervention happen and our teams are usually finalized only about a month ahead of time.

If you are not able to handle such uncertainty, this work might not be suitable for you.

  • Probably.
Best case scenario is that the organizers drive us to the location as a group & Worst case scenario is that we have to commute to the middle of nowhere with no phone coverage… So we set up ways to connect/coordinate volunteers´ travels ahead of time every time. All relevant information will be shared in the info pack you will receive once you are confirmed for an event/team - please read those carefully.

  • You will receive an all-access ticket to the festival and receive at least one meal per shift for free. Any other form of compensation depends on the support we receive from the organizers, crew, donors, etc.

If you are asked to or volunteer to transport materials, get some shopping done or any other favor that costs you money, please keep a receipt/invoice of your expenses so we can refund you when we get back to Vienna.

  • Don´t panic if life gets in the way of your plans. Shit happens and we understand things change but let us know as soon as possible and be honest - We respect boundaries. We do not respect excuses.

  • Maybe. We are still figuring out our membership layers.
Right now, we prioritize people who are motivated to get their hands dirty.

  • If you are not sure, feel free to ask our Kassier markus@psycareaustria.org

  • If you let us know as in advance as possible, we are very likely to be able to accommodate your special needs. The closer we get to an event, the harder it becomes though.

    The following are not negotiable:
    - Your shift lasts 6 hours.
    - If you really want to see an act or need certain days off, we can definitely make that happen if you let us know in time, but you can not pick and choose your shifts.
    - Your partner/child CAN camp with us, but the service area is only for staff and guests.
Your pet CAN camp with us and be with you in the service area only as long as they are not bothering anyone else.
If there is a mandatory team meeting at the beginning (or changeover) of an event and you are not able to attend, for your own safety, we might remove you from your team or change the conditions of your participation.
Everything else contained in the Volunteer Agreement is not negotiable under any circumstance.

  • We don't really do meetups. We only have a few official social events in the year: the Season Opening & Closing, and the Generalversammlung. Our members initiate random gatherings every now and then and spontaneous afterparties do happen, but if you are looking for more community and regular meetups,Stammtische, etc, you should check out the Psychedelic Society Vienna!
